The first official Newsletter copy

I would like to start this first newsletter by apologizing for the delay in catching everyone up on the progress of how things are going in the Wilson family. Being the first newsletter, there will be lots of information. The delay has unfortunately been due to the lack of time that I have had to sit down and write.

Kim and I are both working, myself full-time and Kim part-time. I am doing some middle management at a HVAC company and Kim is decorating cakes. Of course, Kim’s job is much more fun than mine. We had to pick up some work (in the in between time) to continue to pay bills while we continue to raise funds for our calling to GroundZero.

In the time that we started fundraising, Sterling has turned 18 and graduated high school. Jade turned 16 and is currently in Drivers-Ed. Wow, how time flies. It seems like only yesterday that we brought them home from the hospital. Harley is still 13 and just enjoying her summer.

My grandfather Jake had a stroke about a week ago. He is doing much better physically but his mind was greatly affected so it looks like he will be placed in an assistance living home. My mother who has been extremely sick seems to be getting better. There are still not a lot of answers to what is going on, praying for the doctors to have clarity in her diagnosis. I just received news that my sister Misty is undergoing cancer treatments. I do not have much information on what it is at this point. Your prayers are greatly coveted.

Today I sat with Scott, the founder of GroundZero and had a long conversation about the direction of my placement in the ministry. He has taken the time to implement my position into the workings of GroundZero. My position would be Leadership Director. This position would be responsible for volunteer ministry, campus ministries, and student leadership. GroundZero and myself have prayed that God is moving me in this direction and Scott has prepared the position, the responsibilities and a plan of action and duties knowing that if God provides vision, He will provide the needs. The bulk of this job will be focused around the new teen club that is in full remodeling and looks to have a February opening. Implementing the teen club will be a way to reach teens that would never enter a church building. We hope that directing a ministry plan using the club will open the Gospel of Jesus to a group of youth that would not normally hear it. However, in my desires and dreams to be apart of this we are still on the path of raising funds.

The continued renovations of the teen club!

We are currently sitting at 37% funded. This is of course well short of our goal. We reached a date of Sept. 17th 2012 to be 85% - 100% funded to be able to come on staff with GroundZero. I have no doubt that God will help us reach it; however we still need your help. I would like to thank those who have already pledged their support. I pray that you will continue to support us. Support comes many ways, prayer, financially and relationally and all are needed. I know that come September we all will be doing the ministry that God has called us to do. I want to remind everyone that you are not just pledging support; however you are coming alongside me and my family in reaching the youth for Jesus.

With much love and peace in our Lord Jesus Christ, I pray for your continual steadfastness in Him.
Keith Wilson
